3AA Rosette fine dining restaurant London Stock relocates from Wandsworth to Mayfair

15th September, 2023

MKR Property, acting on behalf of London Stock are delighted to have secured the former Amethyst restaurant at 6 Sackville Street in the heart of Mayfair for an undisclosed premium.

The 3 AA Rosette awarded restaurant tasked MKR Property with the sensitive task of securing a site for them to relocate to at the same time as quietly marketing their existing site in Wandsworth. We are very pleased to have not let them down by simulaneously securing this fantastic off market property and securing a buyer for their existing restaurant. More news on the latter in due course!

THE NUDGE SEPTEMBER 2023:

London Stock | A relaxed but refined Modern British restaurant in Mayfair

Allow us to introduce the London Stock exchange.

And by that we mean that the vaunted restaurant London Stock has exchanged its Wandsworth location for somewhere a little more central – Mayfair.

And while its tenure in Wandsworth was fantastic (as evidenced by the critics), Mayfair is currently the epicentre of London’s fine dining restaurant scene, so it feels like the right fit for, well, an ambitious fine dining restaurant.

For anyone who never made it down to the original London Stock, it’s basically a British fine diner headed up by chef Sebastian Rast, a Cordon Bleu graduate who’s come fresh from the kitchens at Michelin-starred HIDE. It netted itself some great reviews, including from the people at the Michelin Guide, and indeed, us.

London Stock’s new home is in the former Amethyst space on Sackville Street, just off Piccadilly. They’ve taken out that enormous amethyst-shot dining table and broken the space up into smaller, more intimate tables, capped off at the end by an open kitchen where you can watch Rast and his team do their wonderful thing. Then, downstairs, there’s a well-stocked wine cellar, and a few more seats for anyone who just wants to grab a glass.

The menus on offer are all thoroughly reasonably priced (particularly for Mayfair), split into set menus for lunch, dinner, and pre-theatre dining, alongside an 8-course tasting menu that’s available all day.

Dishes include the likes of a silky smoked burrata served with baby artichoke & wild garlic; a perfect little wedge of sweet native lobster with tom yum; and a standout dish of rich tomato risotto which comes covered in a white tomato foam – when you cut through it, you paint a ruby-red line though the stark foam, as you dig out the risotto below. It’s immensely satisfying.

Signature cocktails at London Stock include the likes of Yuzu Martinis and strawberry-laced Poolside Negronis. And there’s a whole cellar-load of wine too, paired up with your food courtesy of sommelier Lazaros Engonopoulos.

Put simply: we put a lot of stock in it.
